Id love to see Apple release a lower-cost Magic Keyboard aimed at the lower-cost iPad. All you need to do is just to initialize pairing on the device and Apple MagicWireless keyboard should come up. While the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro does indeed make an iPad Pro weigh as much as a laptop you only have to buy one if you want to use your iPad that way. I recommend a folio case over the apple magic keyboard so that way its always there with your iPad Pro if you need it.
